Since our grand opening in June 2017, word has spread across Australia that Brisbane hosts one of the finest jazz bars in the country. Our three stages have welcomed stellar international and local acts including James Morrison, Vince Jones and Red Young (USA). We have warmly embraced connoisseurs of jazz, funk, soul, rock and blues to share our love of incredible food, cocktails and live music.

The Story So Far
2019 saw the opening of the brand-new Doo-Bop Gatsby Room on level one. Australian pop-rock legends GANGgajang set the bar high, presenting their ‘Surfing Round the World Tour’ at our grand opening in January. The band were supported by one of Doo Bop’s favourite entertainers, Tyrone Noonan, who put on an outstanding show.
This elegant, lavishly decorated space has welcomed audiences of up to 300 people to enjoy acts such as Swing Central, The UK Bee Geez and Uncanny Xmen. Our exclusive members-only events and unique private functions have established the Gatsby Room as one of Brisbane’s boutique event spaces. In the near future, the Gatsby Room will host the highly anticipated Billy Vs. Elton Duelling Piano Spectacular and the legendary Choirboys!
The Doo-Bop Basement Bar has hosted the infamous late-night jam sessions where the likes of Rex Richardson (USA), Sahara Beck (AU) and even Tim Minchin (AU) have taken the stage for an impromptu performance. The finest local musicians have performed in the house bands from 10:45 P.M. every Tuesday to Saturday.
National stars from around Australia have performed Basement Bar shows to rapt audiences in intimate cabaret style. Grace Knight, STYLUS, Fem Belling and many more have graced the stage at Doo Bop. International acts Vivian Sessions (USA), Simona Minns (NY) and Nicola Son (PARIS) have flown in from across the globe to deliver world-class performances for our Doo Bop audiences.
We have loved supporting emerging stars through our partnerships with the Jazz Music Institute and Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. These monthly showcases have discovered some of Brisbane’s finest up-and-coming talent, including Small Step, Salseros and Adelina Martinez.
Our walk-in venue, The Piano Bar, boasts a new layout, re-designed menu and curated entertainment offerings. Legendary theatre performer Trevor Jones has pioneered our must-see Showtune Tuesdays sing-a-longs and our debaucherously entertaining Cabaret nights. Delicious cocktails, bar food and outstanding entertainers make the Piano Bar the obvious choice for an unforgettable night out in Brisbane.
Surprise Guests
Surprise guests Our bar manager and co-founder Oliver Stevens was delighted to welcome Australian NRL star Johnathan Thurston to Doo Bop in recent weeks! Dami Im blew audiences away with her powerful rendition of Summertime in the Basement Bar as a guest of the Sophie Min Trio. Tim Minchin and his entourage took to the stage at the Doo Bop Late Sessions and performed for hours to warm-down from their recent performance at QPAC. Ball Park Music and Sticky Fingers both dropped by the Basement Bar to celebrate their sold-out performances at the Brisbane Riverstage.
