Ingrid James, award-winning Queensland jazz singer always brings fresh life and inventiveness into jazz and latin standards as well as songs of classic contemporary pop, soul and folk tunes she grew up with – from Carole King, Joni Mitchell to Joe Sample, Grover Washington Jnr, The Beatles….Tonight she will be joined by a highly talented ensemble with Jose McLaughlin (piano/voice), Andrew Shaw(bass), Paul Hudson (drums) and special guest Martha Baartz (tenor/alto saxes).

Martha Baartz has performed extensively at renowned Australian Jazz Venues and many National and international festivals including The Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, The Brisbane International Jazz Festival, The world famous Glastonbury Festival and The Edinburgh Festival. Martha is also a composer, having recorded three successful albums with another to be released this year, her music is often played on Radio National, Jazz Track. She has performed with Australian Jazz greats such as Sandy Evans, Bob Sedergreen (2008 Don Banks award winner) Andrea Keller (Aria winner) and Renee Geyer. She expresses a tremendous depth of talent for writing, demonstrated over the years leading various successful bands.
