Jazz studies with the Bachelor of Music degree at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University began in the early 1990s and since that time has evolved to boat two exceptional big bands, two vocal ensembles, and at least a dozen smaller jazz ensembles that serve as a training ground for young artists exploring their improvisational and/or compositional voice.
The James McIntyre Trio will take you on a journey through the frequencies of modern jazz with a repertoire of classic standards to contemporary fusion, along with some original works. Guitarist James McIntyre will be joined by recent Queensland Conservatorium graduates Zac Sakrewski on Bass and Benjamin Shannon on Drums. The three members play regularly together in the jazz metal big band ‘Valtozash, and now come together to present a tasteful modern edge on jazz.
