Multi award-winning songstress, Kellie Knight and her 7-piece jazz/funk ensemble, The Daze are on the rise in Australia’s fast-growing neo-soul movement.

Picking up awards for three of the five tracks from debut EP, Twisted in 2016, including best jazz composition, best world music and best funk song at the NCEIA music awards, the Northern New South Wales outfit have played their gangsta funk, dirty-soul ‘n’ smooth jazz on many of Australia’s world-renowned festival stages, including Bluesfest, the Adelaide Fringe, Port Fairy and Woodford Folk festivals.

Brought up on a healthy diet of pop vinyl, Knight discovered jazz in her early twenties, both of which can be heard through her accessible lyrics, well-crafted pop hooks and potent blend of whisky-smoke jazz subtlety and full-power soul vocal.

In a bid to foster a strong neo-soul scene in Australia, Knight founded popular blog neosoul.com.au and, together with Blue King Brown frontwoman, Nattali Rize, officially represented the Northern Rivers Conservatorium of Music for its silver jubilee.
