Featuring 5 of Brisbane’s top Latin-jazz musicians, Gustavo Cereijo leads his Quintet for a magical night of Cuban jazz music. Featuring special guest Lazaro Pompa (Sydney/Cuba) the Sextet will be performing traditional and contemporary music from Cuba with care and authenticity. The sextet will pay tribute to artists such as Buena Vista Social club and the Afro-cuban all-stars to name just a few.
A benchmark for Latin American music in Australia, Gustavo along with his 12 pc Afro-cuban ensemble ‘Chukale’ have supported 8-time Grammy award-winner Chucho Valdez, Grammy award-winning Los Van Van (Cuba), Afro-Cuban All Stars (Cuba), La 33 (Colombia), Sonora Carruseles (Colombia), Grammy award-winning Los Amigos Invisibles (Venezuela), legendary Buena Vista Social Club lead singer Felix Baloy and flautist Polo Tamayo.
