Doors open, showtimes & seating information
We have three levels:
Doors to the Basement downstairs usually open at 6.30pm on Tues to Sat with a show starting time of 7.30pm, this gives you plenty of time to find your seat for the show and order your drinks.
For ticketed shows, seating is allocated by purchase date, for free events, seating allocation is on a first come first serve basis. The basement is divided into 2 seating areas, the front of the room has private dining tables for groups of 1 to 12. The back half of the room has shared seating on high tables with bar stools.

Late Sessions in the Basement Level are on Friday and Saturday night after the main show, with Free Entry after 10.30pm. See our Late Sessions Event Page for details.
On Ground Level in the Piano Bar, we open at 4pm. Live shows start from 6pm or 7pm every Tuesday to Saturday. And they’re all free! Check out Doo Bop Piano Bar Events for more information.
The Gatsby Room caters for bigger live music concerts. Live music in the Gatsby Room generally starts at 8pm, with doors open at 7pm. The Gatsby Room is a seating and standing venue. Seating is limited and can not be reserved, even for ticketed shows. We advise you arrive at door opening if you would like to have a seat during the show. The Gatsby room does not serve food, however you can dine in our Piano Bar from 4pm. Check our Gatsby Room Events Page for details.
How do I get tickets?
Doo-Bop Piano Bar shows are free, so just turn up! Find events at Doo Bop Piano Bar Events.
Late sessions are free! Entry from 10pm after every basement show.
I did not receive my tickets via email?
Event tickets are sent to the email address used at the time of booking and should arrive with you within a few minutes.
Occasionally technical issue and spam filters can mean you may not receive an email. If you have been charged for your tickets and not received the confirmation email, in 99% of cases the order was processed and you have been booked in, however we still would advise you to email us (email@example.com) within 24 hours of your booking in case something went wrong. Please don’t leave it to the last minute as we would not want you to miss out.
If you have misplaced your ticket email you only need to provide your name at the door to be permitted entry. You can also find a copy of your bookings if you have a subscriber account with Doo-Bop. Your bookings will be listed under ‘orders’ when logged in at www.doo-bop.com.au/members/account/.
Are tickets available at the door?
Tickets are available at the door if not sold out online.
If you are keen on seeing a particular live act, the best way is to purchase your tickets through our secure ticket-booking system on the event page. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
Tables are allocated by booking date, you may have to share tables.
Can I get a refund on my tickets if I can’t make it to the show?
If you cancel your booking for an event, our policy is to only offer exchanges on tickets rather than refunds. Also, if you do cancel, you’ll need to inform us of your cancellation at least 48 hours prior to the event. If you inform us within 48 hours of the event, no exchanges will ordinarily be possible, unless there are exceptional circumstances
Can children under 18 see a show?
only children over 12 years are permitted entry until 10pm, accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is for safety reasons, so your understanding and co-operation is appreciated.
How do you get a gig at the Doo-Bop Bar?
We are always looking for talent – whether it’s local, interstate or international. Fill out the gig enquiry form and we will arrange for our people to speak with your people.
Do you only have jazz music?
No. We also have funk, soul and blues music.
Is there a dress code?
Doo-Bop does not have a particular dress code. It’s just too hot in Queensland to bother about such things. Having said that, there are legislative requirements and we reserve the right to restrict entry according to these.
Is there a smoking area?
Does Doo-Bop have wheelchair access?
Yes! We have wheelchair access to all three levels, as well as disabled and ambulant toilets. Access is available through a dedicated elevator.
Who Tunes your Pianos?
Boyds – The Piano Shop is delighted to be a sponsor for piano tuning at The Doo-Bop Bar. A haven for piano lovers, with a large range of beautiful pianos available for sale, accompanied with personal service and honest advice.
Is there a photographic and / or videography policy?
Photography for personal use is fine. As long as you are not in anyone’s way, and you are using a small device such as your phone, you’re good. To be clear – if you start trying to set up tripods or anything bigger than an iPhone, you will be asked to leave. All professional photography and filming MUST have prior permission of the venue.
Can I make a group booking for a function?
If you’re planning on a group outing, it’s best to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will then be in touch with you about the details of your group booking. Please don’t leave it to the last minute – we don’t want you to miss out!
