Wil Sargisson Trio Late Night Jazz jam 10.30pm – 2.30am

On Monday nights the house band includes Elliot Parker on double bass and Mitch Bellert on drums. We play mostly mainstream jazz with an emphasis on swinging hard, in the mould of 1950s piano trios such as those of Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal, and Red Garland. A heavy blues and gospel influence can be heard, also. Elliot’s major inspiration on the bass is the legendary Ray Brown, bassist with Oscar Peterson for nearly two decades, and so he was a natural choice to play in this group. Mitch is one of the most promising and innovative young drummers on the Brisbane scene.
