Jazz Music Institute presents some of its finest talent from the Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance program.

Brisbane based musician Ben van Jole has been performing as a side-man and leader in some of the city’s finest jazz clubs for the past 2 years. He obtained his Bachelor in Jazz Performance in 2017 from the prestigious Jazz Music Institute under the mentorship and guidance of Australian renowned pianist Steve Russell. After a string of successful performances with local musicians Dan Quigley, Graeme Norris and his own collaborative project, ‘Room’, with guitarist Brandon Mamata, he is quickly establishing himself as one of the scenes up and coming jazz musicians. Ben had his roots in classical and contemporary music until he hit the age of 14 when he was exposed to jazz giants Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson and Gene Harris. Over the years he has taken influence from more contemporary artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea and Taylor Eigsti.
