Adam Thomas and the Northern Rivers Jazz Connection are appearing at Doo-Bop Jazz Bar on Wednesday 30th May from 7.30pm to 10.00pm and will be presenting songs from the Great American Songbook and more, with highlights from Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, George Gershwin, Antonio Carlos Jobim with some lush ballads.
Adam Thomas, or Dr Lips as he is known in the industry, has performed on national television and radio and many jazz clubs and festivals both in Australia and abroad. He has supported some of the music industry’s finest including James Morrison, Kate Ceberano, Tom Burlinson and many more. Adam has also performed with some of the world’s very best DJ’s and dance producers, showcasing his versatility with the likes of Grammy-award winner, Roger Sanchez and other notables, such as Terri B., Seany B., Stafford Brothers, D.O.N.S., Lenny Fontana, Kenny Dope Gonzales, Sky and Sugar Star a well as Knee Deep. Adam Thomas has been much in demand for recording sessions locally and in Europe.
Thierry Fossemalle, has been a professional bassist since 1987. Born in Melbourne, he currently resides in Northern NSW Australia. He has performed thousands of gigs and played on hundreds of recordings as a double bass and electric bass player. Known widely as a versatile musician, his diverse stylistic expertise is frequently appreciated by recording artists, producers and live performers. His professional engagements range from delicate string arrangements, chamber jazz to funk slap bass or improvised noise. And everything in between.
Brendan St Ledger is one of Australia’s finest pianists with a beautifully unique touch and sensitivity on his instrument. Brendan’s extensive recording and touring credits include some of the greats of Australian jazz, pop, soul, funk, and the dance floor. He has toured and recorded with Wendy Matthews, Marcia Hines, Lily Dior, Steve Clisby, Tina Arena, Christine Anu. He was twice a finalist in the Wangaratta National Jazz Piano award and has been a regular in the Sydney jazz circuit over the last 26 years.
