Legendary Sydney Singer/Trombonist Dan Barnett has teamed up with two of his long running musical buddies Reedman – Andrew Robertson and Trumpeter – Todd Hardy for one night only at Doo Bop The fellas will play selections from Dans 7 Studio Albums with plenty of surprises. As a horn section have woked for all sorts of acts including Boy George and Culture Club and have toured New Zealand and Brazil with Dan’s big band Dan has recently returned from working in Cuba, France and Singapore.
Dan Barnett was born into music being the son of the legendary Sydney Bassist Cliff Barnett he began his musical life
as a Trombonist and quickly developed a love for singing and has since carved out an enviable reputation on the
Australian music scene. Dan has worked and recorded with some of the greats in Australian and world music such as James Morrison, INXS, Jack Johnson, Will Calhoun, Paul Kelly,Tom Burlinson, Barbara Morrison, Mark Murphy, Bob Barnard, Boy George, Dan Barrett, Tom Baker, Bob Montgomery, Culture Club,Warren Vache, George Washingmachine, Emma Pask, Judy Carmichael, Janet Seidel, Don Burrows, George Golla, Thirsty Merc, Spy V Spy, The Allniters, Evan Christopher, Stranger Cole, David Paquette, Judy Bailey, Rhonda Birchmore, Kevin Hunt and “The Australian Art Orchestra” production “Testimony” the Legend of Charlie parker, Sydney festival production “The Trocadero Dance Palace Dan is also a permanent member of The legendary Unity Hall Jazz band and Blues Point Jazz vocal group as well as being a renowned bandleader of both big band and small groups.
Dan is a regular on the Australian and European festival Circuit having played at Waiheke JVC Jazz New Zealand,Thredbo, Festival of Voices, Clarence Jazz Festival, Noosa Jazz Festival, Manly, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne Festivals, Wangaratta Jazz Festival, River Festival (Brisbane), Jazz in The Domain, Darling Harbour Jazz fest, Wyndham Estate, Lleuwin Estate,
Ascona Jazz Switzerland, Sildajazz Norway, Breda Jazz Nederlands, Bulach Jazz festival, Porvoo Jazz Finland, Riverboat festival Denmark, Montreux Jazz, and on Tours of Thailand,Europe,Taiwan and the U.S.A. Dan was a runner up in the prestigious 2006 London International Jazz Competition for singers and in 2007 and 2008 toured Brazil three times as part of “Jazz Festival Brazil” to rave reviews and on the strength of this toured his 14pce big band to Brazil in late 2008 for “Banco do Brazil”. He also has six C.Ds under his own name. “The Right Track” “Point of No Return” (on La Brava records) & “Somewhere, Someplace, Sometime” featuring his big band, “Little Green Men” with his group Barnett 5 (Vitamin Records) and the latest release “Walkin’ shoes” also with his big band. The big band has also held down a 10 year residency at Sydney’s infamous Unity Hall Hotel. Dan released CD number four “One for C” a tribute to his late father in May 2009 and was nominated for a Bell Jazz Award.
Dan returns yearly to the EU for dates in France,Holland, Finland,Switzerland,Italy, Scandinavia and the Caribbean as
well as constantly touring nationally as a highly sought after Singer, Musical Director, educator and featured soloist.

Based on the the Gold Coast, Australia, Todd is an exciting Trumpet player who is comfortable in a variety of musical settings, but is clearly rooted in the tradition of Jazz.
Before his recent move to the Gold Coast, Todd performed in a variety of venues throughout Sydney with his Jazz trio as well as regular performances with the vocalist Anita Spring. Todd now pays tribute to the swing era and music of Count Basie & Duke Ellington with his 13 piece “Swing Orchestra”. Other regular performances include Monica Trapaga, Rhonda Burchmore, the Dan Barnett Big Band, the Unity Hall Jazz band and George Washingmachine.
Career highlights have included recording and/or performing with Grace Knight, Judy Bailey, James Morrison, The Temptations, INXS, Midnight Oil, Barbara Morrison (USA), Culture Club (UK), Jimmy Barnes and Doug Parkinson.
After completing the Jazz Studies course at Sydney Conservatorium Andrew has followed a career as a professional musician, composer/arranger, publisher and educator. He has performed with artists such as Michael Buble, Boy George, George Benson, Franki Valli, Michael Feinstein, Jerry Lewis, Paloma Faith, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Tom Burlinson, Hugh Jackman, and most of the professional major Broadway shows. Andrew has also recorded many well known jingles for television. He is in strong demand as an Arranger, writing for Australian Idol, Eurovision Song Contest, television ads and “Battle Of The Choirs” on Australian TV and the NSW Schools Spectacular in addition to arranging for many of Australia’s leading musicians and performing artists. In 2017 Andrew completed a commission for a 20 minute piece involving 35 musicians and a marimba playing Artificial Intelligence robot for the Adobe Software Symposium, premiered at the Sydney Opera House. Andrew is well known through his involvement with JozzBeat Music Publishing – the Primary Music resources and print music company.
Andrew is the founder/Director of the “Jellybeans In-Schools Music Program” company, which has brought the joy of classroom music to over 25,000 young school children in Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand. Andrew has been heavily involved in music education throughout his career.
