Known for his lively energy, pianist Chris Poulsen has recorded and toured with bands such as Scat, Kerbside Collection, Joshua Hatcher Quintet, as well as the very popular avant-groove trio after his own name. This trio has toured internationally and support jazz giants like Snarky Puppy, Yellowjackets and Mike Stern. Poulsen’s playing is heavily influenced by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Uri Caine, and John Medeski, as well as traditional gospel soul music.
