For this special night at Doo Bop, The Josh Kameus Trio will be joined by Joel Aspinal to present a series of Swinging Standards, Hip Arrangements and New Original Compositions by Josh Kameus. The group recently played at Doo Bop and presented a large array of Ellington compositions, This time they will be taking a different approach and playing mainly a wide selection of jazz from the 50’s to now.
Up and coming Brisbane Bassist, Josh Kameus is a recent graduate of the Jazz Music Institute. During his time at JMI he studied under he tutelage of renowned bassist Brendan Clarke. Over the last few years Josh has had the pleasure of performing with his peers in groups such as The Kent Street Cookers, Interlude, The Jazz Music Institute Big Band and Dan Quigley’s Steamboat. Josh draws inspiration for his playing from Bass Greats such as; Dave Holland, Jimmy Blanton and Ron Carter. Josh has recently been working on new projects and looks forward to showcasing his playing with the world over the coming years.
Filling out the trio will be Benjamin Van Jole on Piano and Josh Batka on Drums and Cymbals.
Doors open at 6.30pm. Show starts at 8.00pm.
