James is a multi-disciplined percussionist, composer and educator currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he completed his Doctorate of Musical Arts. James has composed, produced and performed on two albums recorded in New York City; BURBANK (2011) and HARD MINCE (2015). Both albums have received international acclaim for their musicality, originality and creativity. Hard Mince received Best Jazz Album in the 2015 Akademia Music Awards, whilst Burbank received Best Jazz Album Finalist, and honourable mention. “Through the Looking Glass,” from the Hard Mince album reached #1 in the jazz charts for Power XR Radio (West Coast USA), Hot XR Radio (Southwest USA), and Star 100 Radio (South America) in the month of January, 2017. Outside of jazz, James is currently the resident music director for the Nevada Conservatory Theatre in Las Vegas, and is frequently engaged as a freelance percussionist, MD, and orchestrator on various session recordings, shows, and orchestras.James will be reunited onstage with Dave Spicer (piano), Peter Walters (bass), and Trent Bryson-Dean (drums).
