An unsung heroine of the Australian music scene, Blue MC is set to treat fans to an intimate one-off performance next month in which she will play a selection of original trip-hop and funk, backed by Brisbane’s premier Jazz Septet.
Famed for co-fronting Australian electronic outfit The Potbellez 2004-2012, the striking female rapper’s career has seen her garner 2 x Platinum and 2 x Gold Records from ARIA and an APRA Award. In 2013 Blue relocated to Berlin, collaborating with international producers such as Marcus Maichel (X-Dream) and Kev Beats (K.I.Z.) she also made a strong impact as the first rapper ever to compete on The Voice of Germany in 2014.
Returning to Australia after working in the European music scene, Blue will be performing a range of material from her career including three tracks with UK trip-hop legend Luke Vibert, two tracks with NYC hip-hop producer Greaseball Activities, as well as her favourite tune from an early collaboration with Hermitude in a one-off special appearance at Doo-Bop Jazz Club where fans will have the chance to experience her incredible vocals and lyrically rich rhymes in an intimate ‘speak-easy’ setting.
