Brendan is a passionate educator and bassist. He has held positions at the Jazz Music Institute (JMI) in Brisbane and performed around Australia for the Musica Viva ‘Music in Schools’ program. Brendan was the first bassist to win the National Jazz Award at the Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival. As an artist, he has performed with Dale Barlow, Joe Farnsworth, James Morrison, Chris Potter, Jim McNeely and Wycliffe Gordon. He has been a guest educator in bass and improvisation as well as an ensemble tutor at the Jazz Workshop Australia Jazz Camp. In 2018 Brendan accepted a faculty position at the Australian National University (ANU) School of Music’s Jazz/Contemporary music degree program in Canberra.
