With a clear tone and diction, Hetty’s timbre is reminiscent of the swing singers of the 1940s and 50s, and she has been credited as being ‘truly one of the best swing-style singers on the current scene’ by New York author and jazz critic Will Friedwald. Hetty spent three years touring with jazz luminary James Morrison, has sung in four continents, and more recently joined Grammy Award winning big band David Berger’s Sultans of Swing for a sell out concert in New York. No stranger to the Doo Bop Jazz Bar and Brisbane jazz fans, James Sherlock is one of Australia’s treasures, and is a masterful bandleader in his own right. Winner of the prestigious Ike Isaacs International Jazz Guitar award, he has accompanied many celebrated international musicians and vocalists and is well known for his duo project with Brisbane vocalist Kristin Berardi.
